The World Fishing Exhibition collaborates with the University of Punjab (Pakistan) and they are jointly preparing the trip for a group of scientists and experts that will participate in the Summit and visit the World Fishing Exhibition. Among them, Mr. Muhammad Naeen Khan, Professor of Zoology of the University of Punjab, Lahore (Pakistan) since 2005. Professor Khan is Doctor in Fisheries by the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and is specialized in salmon and carp farming. He has 23 years of experience in research, training and works regarding fisheries extension on fishing and aquaculture both in Canada and Pakistan. He also has 19 years of experience in fisheries in his country.
As he has pointed out, in the last two decades, Pakistan has established a total of 7,000 fish farms in rural areas and the culture of carp is becoming popular in 28 districts of the main Pakistani province, Punjab. The Doctor has been part of the provincial government of Punjab working as Fisheries Director from 1996 to 2003. He has decided to attend the World Fishing Exhibition because the University of Punjab is developing an enterprising national and international programme that will allow starting up collaboration plans regarding fishing and aquaculture.
