Subflex presents its offer of net cages for offshore mariculture that, according to the company, have a patent being passed and are composed by a frame connected to an anchor, as well as by cages with polyethylene pipes, ropes and tapes.
The system presented by Subflex at WFE-AQA'09 is weathertight and protects the farm against storms since, as the company explains, "when big waves are expected, pipes are filled with water and submerged quickly; then, when the storm dies down, air is pumped into the system and the cage comes back to the surface".
Fish are fed through an air cannon that injects food in the cages and, according to Subflex, this system permits the farming of fish in their natural habitat, providing the perfect combination of high oxygen levels, excellent renovation of water and essential microelements.
