The World Fishing Exhibition 2009 will open officially at 5.30 this afternoon, although this great world fishing event has already been fully operational from 10.00 o'clock this morning. At 11 o'clock the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, undertook the tradtional raising of the flag on the roundabout at the entrance of the José Nogueira Dalmás centre (IFEVI). 

Later, the Mayor of Vigo, accompanied by the Executive Committee of the WFE, made a tour around the installations at the WFE and Aqua Farming Internatoinal, as well as visiting the 3000 square metres of the Plaza de Galicia. In a statement to the press, Abel Caballero stated that "the city of Vigo has much to proud of in all that it is doing", reiterating that this year's World Fishing Exhibition is "more international than any of the others that have taken place".
